Vakathon Rules & Code of Conduct
Vakathon is open to participants of all skill levels.
Participants may compete individually or in teams of up to 4 members.
2. Respectful Conduct
Treat all participants, volunteers, judges, venue staff, and guests with respect.
Harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Participants must maintain a collaborative and welcoming environment.
3. Venue Rules
Follow all posted rules and safety instructions at the San Ramon Community Center.
Respect the venue, equipment, furniture, and surrounding property.
Participants may be removed from the event for unsafe, disruptive, or harmful behavior.
4. Personal Responsibility
Participants are responsible for their own laptops, devices, hardware, and personal belongings.
Vakathon and the venue are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property.
Bring all necessary equipment, chargers, and accessories needed for your project.
5. Safety & Health
Participate at your own risk.
Participants are responsible for managing their own medical conditions, allergies, and dietary restrictions.
6. Project Requirements
Projects should be created primarily during the event.
Teams must comply with all applicable laws and respect intellectual property rights.
Plagiarism, cheating, or submitting another person's work as your own may result in disqualification.
7. Appropriate Use of Technology
Projects should be suitable for presentation to a general audience.
9. Staff Decisions
Event organizers reserve the right to remove participants, disqualify projects, or modify event procedures when necessary to maintain safety, fairness, and a positive experience.
All organizer decisions are final.
